Description
Breaking into PE requires a different mindset than succeeding in investment banking. I went through the IB to PE transition myself after ~3.5 years in J.P. Morgan M&A and now work as an Associate at a lower-middle-market private equity firm. One of the biggest adjustments is learning how to move beyond explaining what happened in a transaction and demonstrate that you can actually form a view on a business: what you like, what concerns you, what you would diligence and what ultimately needs to be true for the investment to work. We'll tailor the package to your experience and where you are in the recruiting process.

I made the investment banking to private equity transition myself after spending ~3.5 years in J.P. Morgan's M&A group in New York. During my time at JPM, I worked across industries on domestic and cross-border transactions representing $50bn+ of aggregate transaction value and gained extensive experience analyzes businesses, valuation, transaction execution and discussing deals.
