I'm a strategic finance leader who taught himself to build. Two years ago I had never written a line of Python. Today I've built my company's first automated revenue pacing system with Claude Code, and it posts every business unit's implied month-end finish to Slack each morning, from gross revenue down to contribution profit. Leaders now catch misses in the first days of the month, when there's still time to act, not two weeks later. The part most people skip is trust. AI-built forecasts don't mean anything if no one believes them, so I built in automatic backtesting. Every month the system checks its own historical calls against actuals, in public, where anyone can see how it did. I was named a company-wide AI champion, made the case to be one of our first non-engineering Claude Code adopters, and built a shared library of AI skills my finance team uses every day.
