Interview Ready 5: Weaknesses and Red Flags
About the event
Almost everyone has something on paper they would rather not explain. A low GPA, a gap year, a transfer, no finance experience, getting dinged last cycle. This session is about answering for it in thirty to sixty seconds and moving the conversation somewhere better. You prepare the answer and keep it in your pocket. You do not raise it first. If it comes up, you give the prepared version, hand the banker something more interesting to ask about, and let them take it. What we'll cover: - Writing your own list of likely questions, and an answer for each - Why you should not bring it up first, even though the research says to - ABCD: acknowledge, bridge, cover, dangle - Keeping the negative word out of your answer - What to do when they ask a second time - Worked examples, from a hard major's GPA to an academic integrity violation, and the short list of things with no answer at all Want your hardest question answered before anyone asks it? I run a 90-minute mock interview, and the question you are dreading goes in it. Book a free 15-minute intro to see if it is a good fit. Part 5 of Interview Ready, a six part run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each one stands alone, so jump in anywhere. I'm the founder of OFFERGOBLIN and ex-Centerview tech.
