Work with Manon
About
I'm Manon, a quantitative researcher based in Paris. I hold a PhD in applied mathematics from École Polytechnique, and today I split my work between two worlds: as a quant researcher at a major European bank, where I work on applied mathematics for finance, and as a researcher at the university, where I pursue a more academic, fundamental line of work. That dual perspective — industry and academia — shapes how I think about problems and how I teach them. Alongside this, I regularly design and deliver AI training programs for companies, turning complex technical material into something people can genuinely use. I've always loved learning new things — and just as much, sharing what I know. That's what led me to coaching: helping people build real skills and confidence as they navigate careers in quantitative finance, data science, and the sciences more broadly.
Manon’s AI for Data & Analytics Qualifications
Experience level: Analyst
10+ AI for Data & Analytics clients
With a strong background in applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning and AI, I combine academic expertise with real-world experience in the financial industry. I have taught statistics, machine learning and quantitative finance at university and Master’s level, and I also deliver professional training in artificial intelligence, generative AI, prompting, fine-tuning and RAG. My goal as a coach is not simply to explain concepts, but to help you truly understand them and apply them confidently to real problems. I adapt each session to your level and objectives, with a practical, structured and hands-on approach. From Python and data analytics to machine learning and modern AI tools, I can help you build both strong fundamentals and practical skills you can use immediately.

Why do I coach?
I coach because I know how disorienting it can be to build a career in a technical field — especially one that straddles academia and industry, like quantitative finance and data science. Moving between a PhD, a bank, and a university, I've had to constantly translate between different worlds: theory and practice, rigor and pragmatism, research questions and business problems. No single mentor could show me that whole path, because very few people walk it. That's exactly why I coach. I want to be the person who can help others make sense of that complexity — someone who's lived the transitions, not just studied them. Teaching has always been a core part of who I am: I already train professionals in AI, and every time I see someone go from confusion to clarity, I'm reminded why I do this. Coaching lets me take that further, one person at a time.
Work Experience
Artificial Intelligence Analyst & Model Trainer
Ziggourat Formation
March 2026 - Present
I deliver in-house training courses on a range of topics relating to artificial intelligence. These topics can be either highly theoretical or practical.

Quantitative Researcher
BNP Paribas
September 2024 - Present
Since completing my PhD, I have been working as a quantitative researcher at BNP Paribas. In this role, I carry out research in applied mathematics, focusing on both topics relevant to banking and more academic subjects, in collaboration with researchers at the university.
Teaching Assistant
ESILV
September 2020 - July 2024
During the four years I spent working on my PhD, I taught as a tutor for Machine Learning and Market Risk modules for first-year Master’s students.
Education

École Polytechnique
PhD , Applied Mathematics
2020 - 2024
I completed a PhD in applied mathematics at École Polytechnique on the topic ‘Risk measures in finance, backtesting, sensitivity and robustness’, which I defended on 5 July 2024. During my PhD, I studied probability, statistics, machine learning and financial mathematics. I learnt how to read research papers and developed my analytical and writing skills. My thesis comprises three chapters: Self-Similar and Stationary Processes; Predicting Value-at-Risk for Fractional Price Dynamics; and Estimating Means for Heavy-Tailed Distributions. I also taught courses on machine learning and market risk during my four years of doctoral study.

École Polytechnique
Master 2 , Mathématiques et Applications - Data Sciences
2019 - 2020
Whilst completing my final year at ESILV engineering school, I undertook a research-based Master’s degree at the École Polytechnique de Paris in Mathematics and Applications – Data Sciences programme, from which I also graduated in 2020.
ESILV (Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieurs Léonard De Vinci)
General engineer (Master 2), General engineer (specializing in financial engineering)
2016 - 2020
I studied a general engineering degree with a specialization in financial engineering, graduating in 2020.
