About
I work with humble, competent, determined leaders and entrepreneurs who want to evolve. I create clarity of your situation and your goals, to take pro-active, dynamic steps towards them. My approach is direct and sometime brutally honest, delivered with compassion and a desire to see people thrive. _________________ Business Transformation & Strategic Leadership describes what fourteen years have required of me, not a positioning line. Twelve years as MD gave me the operational foundation. I took on an underinvested family business and rebuilt it: restructuring, lean manufacturing, a relocation, a repositioned market, apprenticeship programmes, two ventures founded, an exit by trade sale. The rebuild held through real shocks, a foundational client loss, Brexit, COVID, the supply chain after Russia-Ukraine, including an 85% revenue loss it came through. I know what it is to carry the full weight of a business, not as a phase to survive but as the thing you are accountable for every day for a decade. Seven years before that in corporate finance and investment consulting for a Swiss bank , CFA training, and then two years of work on AI disruption and investment thesis development completed the picture.

Marc has helped clients get into these companies:
After working in relentless roles across finance and running my own business for 20 years, I was incredibly fortunate to spend 18 months after selling my business to delve into a more spiritual and aligned way of living. I built the tools that I wish I had had access to, to improve self awareness and clarity on what alignment looks like in life. How do I show up every day, more able to act consistent with how I see myself in my heart? To surround myself with the right people. To follow opportunities consistent with my values, my passions and my life long ambitions. How do you put down your own ego and find that alignment? It's the hardest and most rewarding path, in a world structured to keep you in place.
Why do I coach?
I am deeply passionate about the development of humble, hard working people who want to evolve. I love seeing people unlock something in themselves and thrive.

Leaders of SME and mid-corporate businesses are living through the most turbulent stretch of technological and economic change most of us will see in a working life, and very few have the bandwidth to get their heads up and deal with it properly. I sit alongside leaders and provide that capacity: the negotiation they've been putting off, the investor conversation they've been avoiding, the financial metrics they can't or don't want to see. I don't advise from the sidelines. I get my hands dirty, live it with them, and build them into the leader who eventually won't need me there. Private Equity might call my role an Operating Partner, but I am not doing it in isolation. I am building the team around me, with capabilities and experience to transform a business from the leadership team and the culture, through to the processes and the tech adoption. AI tools bolted onto an unchanged business don't solve this. The real work is the business and the people running it, not the software. I have a significant background in manufacturing, having lived through driving structural change from inside rather than advising it from outside. My strategic view is shaped by deep work on defensibility mechanisms for businesses navigating the automation era, anchored in part by the Angel Investors Bristol publication Investing Through Disruption. I work with owner-managed, family, and private equity-backed businesses, as fractional leader or adviser, interim support where urgency needs a steady hand, equity partner where alignment matters more.

Managing Director of a manufacturing business I took on as an underinvested family operation and rebuilt over more than a decade: operationally, financially and culturally. Restructured the business, modernised the operation, developed the team and the leadership beneath me, and navigated a complex family ownership structure from the inside before taking full control ahead of the exit. The years that taught me what transformation actually requires when the risk is real rather than theoretical, and the foundation for everything I do now. Relocated the business from Wiltshire to a 1960s tractor factory in Frome and transformed it into a modern manufacturing operation. The physical move enabled the cultural shift: leadership on the factory floor next to the CNC machines rather than hidden in offices. No barriers, direct accountability, everyone holding standards together. Exited through a management buyout to the internal team who had grown through the transformation, proof the capability was sustainable beyond my involvement.

Swiss private banking felt like I'd arrived. Ultra-high-net-worth clients, CFA training, Mayfair offices where more money flowed than anywhere else in the world. Advised on £1.5bn client investments, executed £500m asset acquisitions across hedge funds, private equity, complex portfolio structuring. I was getting very good at analysing risk in financial instruments whilst knowing almost nothing about how actual businesses worked - the messy, human, operational reality. When my father-in-law announced he was closing his manufacturing business, I walked away from banking to run it. Everyone thought I'd lost my mind.
