Having sat on the actual HBS Admissions Board and conducted hundreds of these interviews, I can tell you firsthand: it’s not a standard Q&A—it’s a fast-paced, deep-dive conversation. I'm going to put you in the hot seat so that by the time you walk into the real thing, you’re ready for the toughest questions. Here’s the plan: 1. Pre Mock Prep Before we jump in, I’ll share my personalized prep tips. These aren't generic interview pointers; they are specific insights into the HBS mindset and how the Board evaluates your career readiness, ability to handle the classroom rigor, and if you bring that special sauce. 2. The Mock Interview I’ll spend time reviewing your specific application materials to build a custom set of questions—exactly how HBS does it. We’ll do a 30-minute mock interview that mimics the speed, tone, and "deep-drilling" style of the actual Board. 3. The Debrief Once the mock interview is over, we’ll spend another 30–40 minutes deconstructing your performance. We’ll look at where you nailed the narrative, where you might have rambled, and how to sharpen your responses to ensure you’re showing up as your most authentic, impactful self. 4. The Post-Mock Report After our session, I’ll send over my formal interview notes and a summary of our discussion. You’ll have a clear roadmap of your strengths and a hit list of areas to work on before the big day. 5. The Reflection Review The interview isn't over when you leave the room. HBS requires a "Post-Interview Reflection" within 24 hours. Once you’ve finished the real thing, I’ll review your draft and provide speedy feedback to ensure your final word to the committee is a winner.
