Build Your Quant Skillset with a Former McKinsey Case Interviewer
Most candidates who miss a McKinsey, Bain or BCG offer miss it for reasons they can control: • What's 17x9? Did you do (170x10) - 17 = 153 in <3 seconds? Why not? We can get you there • How many Americans might buy a random widget in 2040? Walk me through your thinking? I'll help you communicate this clearly. • What are the most important trends in this exhibit (in 30 seconds)? Why does your analysis matter? I'll help you build out your mathematical critical thinking. How this works: 1. We'll run quant-heavy cases end-to-end and targeted exercises based on where you're having the most trouble, unlockings ways to bring out your strengths so you can show up with confidence on interview day. 2. This package is tiered. The higher package you select, the more cases and exercises we can target and skills we can build together. We can touch on more complex, challenging examples requiring overlapping skills, which will help greatly come interview day. 3. Once you've selected your package, we can find mutual times to meet together live, and do a combination of cases, thoughtfully-designed drills, feedback from the cases in our session, and recommendations on how and what to practice between our sessions together. Here are specific examples of quantitative skills I've helped my coaching clients build, 1. Performing detailed case math out loud, under pressure. 2. Helping you ask good clarifying questions at the right moment, identifying if and when you don't have enough information 3. Common financial/commercial formulas and ways of thinking that are high-likelihood to emerge on interview day: growth rates, breakevens, NPV, weighted averages, percentage change, all at interview pace. I'll help you find shortcuts and improve your speed in calculation. 4. Analyzing exhibits with a point of view. What's noise? What's meaningful? How can we help you recognize patterns more easily through practice? I ran dozens of cases as a McKinsey interviewer and hundreds more since, helping over 50 individuals land MBB offers over the past 10 years. I'll help you diagnose where you stand, improve on every dimension, and elevate your quantitative skills to take you from fearing pieces of the case we both know you're guaranteed to see... to motivated, and looking forward to the challenge. Because you've reached a point where you're ready, and you know you're ready.
What's included
I am incredibly invested in this. I've worked with people who struggle with basic math and numerical fluency, to math and computation PhDs who perform calculation well, but struggle with articulating their thought process. I want you to feel like you've left nothing on the table. That your absolute best is what they see on case day. And in working together, that every session you leave with an objective perspective, a thought partner with you across cases who can help you see where and how you're improving, and will help you every step of the way.
- Quant-heavy cases run end to end at real interview pace
- Drills on case math, exhibit interpretation, and analytics
- Detailed live feedback from a former McKinsey interviewer on what you can do better, and where you're at your best
- An experienced perspective from someone who's made it through the process on what it feels like, helping you manage your nerves and your numbers together.
