In this story-focused coaching package, we’ll uncover the narrative already emerging from your material. Together, we’ll clarify what the film is truly about, identify its most compelling characters and conflicts, explore different structures, and determine what the audience should feel and understand by the end. This is not about forcing real life into a formula. It is about finding the choices, contradictions, relationships, and turning points that make reality feel cinematic. I'm an award-winning filmmaker and producer with 10 years of experience across independent film, documentary, and entertainment, including work with A24, Condé Nast Entertainment, and Verizon Media. I directed and produced "Hoop Like This", an independent feature documentary that has screened at festivals across North America, including CAAMFest, the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and the Asian American International Film Festival. I've navigated the process of developing, financing, producing, and bringing an independent feature to audiences, including fundraising, fiscal sponsorship, festival submissions, audience development, and distribution strategy. I've also been selected for some of the industry's competitive development opportunities, including the Women in Film's Creative Documentary Producing Fellowship, Netflix DART, and The Salon Mentorship Program. I help emerging filmmakers turn ambitious ideas into actionable plans, whether that's developing a documentary, creating a compelling pitch deck, navigating grants and fellowships, building a realistic budget, planning a festival strategy, or figuring out how to sustain a creative career while getting independent projects made. My coaching combines firsthand filmmaking experience with practical, honest guidance about the business of independent film, including the challenges and opportunities that aren't always taught in film school.
