Work with Satoshi
About
I'm Satoshi and I help people whose experience is stronger than their resume makes it look. That's often someone changing fields or countries, or someone senior who has never had to sell their own work. I've read hundreds of resumes and run hundreds of interviews from the hiring side, so I know which parts a hiring manager reads and which parts they skip. Working with me is direct and practical. I'll tell you what I'd think if I were the one hiring, and then we fix it together. You do the writing and I edit, because you are the one who has to defend every line in an interview. Each session ends with a short list of what's due before the next one, and we track whether the changes are getting you more callbacks. If they aren't, we change the approach. I also coach MBA applicants (Columbia MBA '20 with full-tuition fellowship) and help with personal finance (financial planning, investments, equities, fixed income, etc.) and travel planning (50+ countries traveled and lived across 3 continents). You'll find those under my other services.
Satoshi also coaches for Career Coaching, Travel Planning, and MBA. View all.
Satoshi’s Personal Finance Qualifications
Experience level: Associate
I've managed my own finances across three continents, through a career that moved from consulting to tech to nonprofit work in Cambodia. That means I've dealt with the questions most advisors never face: how to keep US retirement accounts funded while living abroad, what the foreign earned income exclusion does and doesn't cover, how to think about buying property in a country where you are not a citizen, and how to make a big career move without the money getting in the way. I hold an MBA from Columbia Business School and I've spent years researching my own investments in depth, reading the primary documents instead of the headlines, and sizing positions with a written plan before the outcome is known. I coach the way I'd want to be coached: start with what you want your life to look like in five years, work backward to the numbers, and build a system simple enough that you'll still be running it in year three. After our first three sessions you'll have a one-page plan that shows where your money goes and what you are investing in and why, plus a clear call on the one or two decisions coming up that matter most. If the basics need work first, we start there: paying down debt, building a cash buffer, or cleaning up old retirement accounts. I'm not a licensed advisor and I don't sell products, so we can talk openly about your actual situation. I'm most useful for people living or working abroad, people mid-career change, and people who want to understand their own investments well enough to stop outsourcing the thinking.

Why do I coach?
When I came back from three years working in Africa, I had a CV that impressed the wrong people. The experience was strong, but the recruiters I wanted to reach couldn't see it, and tt took me a while to realize the problem was how I'd described it. Later, when I was the one hiring, I saw the same thing from the other side. Strong candidates lost out because of how they wrote about their work, and most of them never found out that was the reason. I coach because that problem is fixable. My favorite part is the moment someone reads their rewritten bullet and realizes they've been underselling themselves for years.
