About
Whether you’re exploring graduate school, considering research opportunities, navigating a transition, or wondering what comes next, it can help to have someone think it through with you. That’s where my work begins. Through Anglón Practice, I offer graduate school advising, mindful coaching, and mindfulness meditation courses and guided practice. We might explore whether a master’s or PhD fits your goals, evaluate research opportunities and mentoring environments, or work through a decision or change in your life. Through mindful coaching or meditation courses, you can also explore ways to bring greater awareness and self-compassion into everyday experience. My advising draws on more than 20 years in graduate education, admissions, research pathways, funding, and student support, including leadership at MIT and experience at Harvard and the University of Maryland. I’m also a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach and a current USC PhD student. I’m completing my mindfulness teacher training, with certification anticipated in January 2027. Across all three streams, my approach is mindful, collaborative, culturally responsive, and systems-aware. Together, we’ll explore what matters to you, make information and options easier to understand, and pay attention to the strengths, relationships, resources, and circumstances shaping your choices. Specific mindfulness and self-compassion practices are offered with choice and adapted to your goals and comfort. My role isn’t to decide for you. It’s to help you make informed and intentional choices that fit your goals, your context, and the life you’re trying to build. You may be considering a PhD, preparing applications, or wondering which research and mentoring environment would support your growth. Questions about faculty, funding, expectations, and future possibilities can be difficult to sort through. Together, we can explore whether doctoral study fits your goals and what to look for in the programs you’re considering. I bring more than 20 years of experience in graduate education, including leadership at MIT and graduate admissions work at Harvard. My background includes research opportunities, fellowships, mentoring, student support, and doctoral development. We can work on research interests, program and faculty fit, application strategy, feedback on your statements and CV, recommendations, faculty conversations, interviews, funding, and admission offers. Your application materials remain your own work, with guidance to help you communicate your experience and interests clearly. My advising combines practical strategy with a mindful, collaborative approach. We’ll consider not only what programs expect from you, but whether their mentoring, funding, research culture, and community could support your development and well-being. Your identity, values, responsibilities, and hopes for the future belong in that conversation. You remain the decision-maker as we explore a path that makes sense for your research and your life.

Why do I coach?
I coach because people deserve more than simply getting through the next day, the next semester, or the next season of life. Throughout my work in graduate education, I watched talented people earn meaningful opportunities while also navigating unspoken expectations, competing priorities, self-doubt, isolation, and the pressure to keep performing. Having room to slow down, feel seen, and reconnect with what matters can help us understand our choices and consider possibilities we hadn’t noticed before. Coaching offers that space. You can bring a question you haven’t resolved, a change you’re considering, or something you want to understand more fully. We begin there. Sometimes our work is about making a decision or solving a problem. Sometimes it’s about making more room for joy, meaning, connection, or a greater sense of possibility.
