About

Hi! I’m Isidro. I’m a 3L at Stanford Law School and a first-generation college graduate from the University of Southern California. As the first in my family to pursue a graduate degree, I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate higher education without a roadmap. I also understand how important it is to tell your story clearly, authentically, and in a way that allows admissions committees to see what makes you unique. My path to higher education was anything but linear. I was born to Mexican immigrant parents who worked blue-collar jobs. My mother was undocumented for much of my childhood before becoming a U.S. citizen. Her naturalization process sparked my interest in the law and gave me an early understanding of both the power of our legal system and the shortcomings of our nation’s immigration laws. Because no one in my immediate family had attended college, I had to navigate the admissions process largely on my own, relying on mentors and teachers for guidance. I ultimately gained admission to USC with a Trustee Scholarship, the university’s most selective merit-based scholarship, awarded to 100 of 3,500 incoming freshmen. At USC, my proudest achievement was founding and leading the university’s first cultural pre-law organization, Latino Students in Law. I worked closely with law school admissions officers, law students, professors, attorneys, and judges to organize programming for more than 150 undergraduate students interested in pursuing law. Through this experience, I gained insight into the law school admissions process and learned how to help students identify and communicate the experiences that make their stories compelling. Outside the classroom, I worked in Congress, on congressional campaigns, at education non-profits, and at mid-size immigration law firms. I was also selected for some of the nation’s most prestigious pre-law fellowships, including the Stanford Law Scholars Institute, UCLA Law Fellows Program, and Legal Education Access Pipeline. Since beginning at Stanford Law School, I’ve continued to explore the many opportunities a legal education can create. I have spent two summers in Big Law and one summer at Apple. These experiences have exposed me to different areas of the legal profession while reinforcing how life-changing a law degree from a top institution can be. My background has required me to learn about admissions, fellowships, internships, and career opportunities by actively seeking out information and building relationships with mentors over many years. Coaching allows me to share what I’ve learned with students who may not have access to that same roadmap. My goal is to help applicants identify the stories worth telling, and present their journeys with clarity and authenticity.

Isidro has helped clients get into these schools:

Law school admissions is about more than numbers. I learned that firsthand as a first-gen applicant and reverse-splitter. I knew my personal statement and other written materials would need to contextualize my experiences and demonstrate why law school was the right path for me. Choosing the right stories and putting them into words led to outcomes I never imagined possible. I was rejected from just one of the 16 schools I applied to, and was admitted to Stanford Law School, my dream school. That admission opened doors I hadn't let myself imagine, from working in big law at two different firms to spending a summer on Apple's legal team. Since graduating from USC, I've guided dozens (if not hundreds) of applicants through the admissions process, helping them write compelling statements that got them into top law schools. I believe everyone's story is more unique than they realize, and my job is to help you find that story and tell it in the most authentic, genuine way possible. The right personal statement doesn't just get you in. It can change the entire trajectory of your career.

Why do I coach?

Simply put, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the teachers, professors, and mentors who invested their time and resources in me. When I applied to law school, this group of people rallied behind me and helped me navigate a process I had never experienced before. Since then, I’ve tried to pay that support forward by mentoring dozens of prospective law school applicants and sharing what I learned through my own admissions journey. I’ve helped students think through their application strategies, develop their personal narratives, and identify ways to present their experiences more effectively to admissions committees. I strongly believe that everyone has a story worth telling. I coach because I want to make the lessons I’ve learned over the years more accessible to students who are navigating the process themselves. For me, coaching is a continuation of the mentorship that helped me get here and an opportunity to help more students tell their stories.
